At the weekend Chris and I attended the most beautiful wedding of our friends George and Rosanna Ryan at the Parish Church of St Mary’s in Painswick, Cotswolds. I’d already seen some photos of the topiary yew trees but I hadn’t appreciated there were 99 of them. Legend has it that if a hundredth tree is planted the devil will come and pull it out by the roots. I know I won’t be trying. There’s a lot to say about the beauty of the trees and rather than write about it, I’ll say it in pictures.
